Volunteer Social Media, Photo & Media Release Waiver

1. Permission to Photograph and Record

I voluntarily grant Bed Brigade, its chapters, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, representatives, contractors, and authorized partners permission to photograph, video record, audio record, interview, or otherwise capture my image, likeness, voice, statements, and participation while I am volunteering for, attending, or participating in Bed Brigade activities and events.

2. Permission to Use My Image and Likeness

I authorize Bed Brigade to use, reproduce, edit, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use photographs, video, audio, quotations, testimonials, or other recordings containing my image, likeness, voice, or statements for lawful purposes related to Bed Brigade, including but not limited to:

• Social media platforms;
• Bed Brigade websites;
• Printed materials and brochures;
• Newsletters and email communications;
• Fundraising and donor communications;
• Advertising and promotional materials;
• Presentations;
• News and media coverage;
• Volunteer recruitment;
• Community education and outreach; and
• Historical or archival purposes.

I understand that these materials may be publicly accessible and may remain accessible after their original publication.

3. No Compensation

I understand that I will not receive payment, royalties, compensation, or other consideration for the use of my image, likeness, voice, statements, photographs, recordings, or other media covered by this Release.

4. Ownership and Editing

I understand that photographs, videos, recordings, or other media created by or on behalf of Bed Brigade may be edited, cropped, reproduced, combined with other materials, or otherwise modified, provided that such use is not intentionally defamatory or materially misleading.

To the extent permitted by law, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials in which my image, likeness, voice, or statements appear.

5. Volunteer-Created Photos, Videos, and Social Media Content

If I take photographs, record video, or create social media content while participating in Bed Brigade activities, I understand that protecting the privacy and dignity of the individuals and families served by Bed Brigade is a priority.

I agree that I will not photograph, record, publish, post, tag, identify, or otherwise disclose information concerning a Bed Brigade bed recipient, household member, residence, or family without authorization from Bed Brigade and any consent required by Bed Brigade policy.

Without authorization, I will not publicly share information including, but not limited to:

• Recipient names;
• Children's names;
• Home addresses or identifiable residence information;
• Telephone numbers or email addresses;
• Medical, financial, or personal information;
• Documentation or application information;
• Photographs or videos in which recipients can be identified;
• Images that reveal identifying information about a recipient's residence or household; or
• Details about a recipient's circumstances that could reasonably identify the individual or family.

I understand that consent from a recipient does not necessarily authorize me to independently publish content if doing so would violate Bed Brigade policy.

6. Respectful Representation

I agree that any Bed Brigade-related content I personally post or share will respect the dignity of the individuals and families served by Bed Brigade.

I will not use photographs, videos, captions, comments, or descriptions that ridicule, demean, embarrass, exploit, sensationalize, or unnecessarily disclose the personal circumstances of a recipient or family.

7. Personal Social Media Accounts

I understand that unless I am specifically authorized to do so, I am not a spokesperson for Bed Brigade.

If I post about my volunteer experience from my personal social media account, I will not represent my personal opinions as official statements or positions of Bed Brigade.

I understand that Bed Brigade may request that I remove or modify Bed Brigade-related content that violates this Release, Bed Brigade policies, recipient privacy expectations, applicable law, or the organization's standards of conduct.

8. Content Submitted to Bed Brigade

If I voluntarily provide Bed Brigade with photographs, videos, testimonials, written content, or other materials that I created during a Bed Brigade activity, I grant Bed Brigade a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, display, and use those materials for Bed Brigade's charitable, educational, promotional, fundraising, and operational purposes.

I represent that, to the best of my knowledge, I have the right to provide such materials to Bed Brigade and that my submission does not knowingly violate the rights of another person.

9. Release of Claims

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Bed Brigade and its chapters, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, contractors, and authorized partners from claims arising from the authorized use of my image, likeness, voice, statements, photographs, video, audio, or other media under this Release, including claims based upon publicity rights, privacy rights, or similar rights.

This release does not waive claims that cannot lawfully be waived.

10. Duration and Withdrawal of Future Consent

This Release remains effective unless I notify Bed Brigade in writing that I am withdrawing permission for future use of my image or likeness.

I understand that withdrawal of consent will apply prospectively and that Bed Brigade may not be able to remove materials that were previously printed, distributed, published, reposted by third parties, archived, or otherwise placed outside Bed Brigade's reasonable control before receiving my withdrawal.

11. Voluntary Participation

I understand that signing this Release is voluntary unless Bed Brigade determines that media participation is an established requirement for a specific volunteer role or activity.

I acknowledge that I have read this Release, understand its terms, and voluntarily agree to them.

Optional Media Preference

Bed Brigade may choose to provide volunteers with the following preference options:

• I consent to photography, video, and other media use as described above.
• I consent to photographs but prefer not to be included in recorded interviews or individual testimonial videos.
• I prefer not to be photographed or recorded. I understand that I should also notify the event or volunteer coordinator when I arrive so reasonable efforts can be made to honor this preference.
